PNNL has more than 40 years of experience in radiological science and radiochemical separations based on its activities at the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site, a former nuclear materials production site. Those technologies—particularly those associated with radioisotope production, recovery and recycle of valuable radioisotopes and sources, and advanced radiochemical separations (e.g., fission product and actinides) are being actively commercialized.
